LONDON LIFE

Coming straight from Cornwall to London has created a huge contrast for me. Where Cornwall is quaint, quiet and peaceful, I find London strange and exciting and it keeps me on my toes every day. Here are 7 things that I find fascinating about London.

1.The People

London one of the busiest places I have ever experienced. No matter where you go, you see all different types of people every day, never seeing the same face twice. I find the commotion thrilling, and the people vibrant. Everyone is on their own journey, and they are what makes this city so fascinating.

2. The Culture

Not one area of London is the same, each place has its own identity and culture. Every time I explore a new area of London I love to take in what makes it so unique. All of the different buildings, the shops, the colours. Coming from Cornwall which is limited to what you can experience, you can get a taste of each part of the world in one city!

3. The Food

With all the different people and cultures you can experience in London this brings a great element, particularly for my interests – FOOD. The options for different kinds of food are endless, it is almost intimidating. You can get whatever you are craving at any time, whether that be in an amazing restaurant or straight to your door step.

4. The Creativity

I think that the creative hub of the UK is London, whether that be in the work place, art or education. There is creativity everywhere you look. I love seeing it in the street art, whether they are small pieces you have to hunt for or the huge cascading pieces on the sides of buildings. Or going to galleries, or restaurants, and seeing the sparks of ideas in new people you meet.

5. The Night Life

From day to night London is a completely different city. At night there is twice the buzz, twice the chaos and twice the fun. I enjoy exploring the different areas of London at night, as each place has a completely different scene. You meet the most fantastic people at such random moments and create stories that will stick with you forever. You never know where the night will take you in London.

6. The Parks

Being from the depths of the country side, I find nature very comforting. It can be hard to stay connected to it in a place with so many buildings and technology constantly around you. My way to escape all of this and feel calm in nature again are the parks. I love being able to escape all the noise, and watching people find their own way to relax in the parks. A particular park I find peaceful is Haggerston, as it is wonderful and peaceful with beautiful walls and trees.

7. The Opportunities

When in London, you are constantly inspired. There are so places where you can go in search of new things. It’s a place you can find yourself, get lost in yourself and discover who you are. The opportunities are endless, you can find them at the most random times just when you least expected it.
